Stage two and three students have been honing their spelling skills and familiarising themselves with the rule of spelling bees in preparation for our school spelling bee.
Each class was represented by a small group of their best spellers who competed against others in their stage for the opportunity to represent our school at the district Spelling Bee held at Fingal Heads public School.
There was an air of nervous anticipation in the hall as each stage awaited the start of their final. Students did an outstanding job of progressing through the increasingly difficult levels. Teachers and students who were involved in administering and timing the spelling bee took their roles very seriously and created a suitable air of formality for the competition.
Our winners: Shakeisha Walsh, Toby Shapland, Jacob Davison and Virginia Cotmore were the successful competitors who went on to compete in the district finals against a fiercely competitive field. They represented our school with skill and determination.
