Over the last few weeks all of our students have been busily researching and fine tuning a speech ready to present to their class in the hope of being chosen to compete in the public speaking finals. Though it can be challenging, public speaking is a fantastic component of our curriculum as it gives our children the opportunity to investigate a favourite topic, fine tune their writing skills and develop the confidence and resilience to present their finished speech.
Our finalists presented well crafted, entertaining speeches with great enthusiasm. Their delivery was polished and very mature.
We have six students proudly representing us at the district Public Speaking competition to be held in the near future; Darcy Turner, Harper Davis, Toby Robinson, Tyson Betts, Emily Simpson and Lily Robinson. We know that these talented students will do a fantastic job of representing our school.
